Audio Projects

May 2018

This project is a radio advertisement that acts like a trailer for the book A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. I based the narration style after the author’s and some of the production elements off the Netflix adaptation of the series starring Neil Patrick Harris. This audio project was written and produced by me, and had my voice work as Lemony Snicket and Count Olaf.

“A Difficult Morning” was a challenging project I produced for my digital audio class. Our assignment was to produce an audio narrative that tells a story without the use of dialogue. In this particular story set to Edvard Grieg’s "In The Hall of The Mountain King," a man faces a very troublesome morning when his alarm doesn't go off when he has to go to work. Some of the sound effects in this project were pulled from my college’s database, while others I recorded on my own— primarily, the main character’s vocalizations and some of the sounds his body makes.

This is a 30-second radio advertisement I produced for the Career Services Office at Onondaga Community College. At the time of production, I was thinking a great deal about nature documentaries and BBC’s Planet Earth— so I decided to go with an ad that suited that style while also adding a little adding a little humor and irony.

During my first semester, one of my assignments was to make a produced reading in which we were to take a scene from a book, movie, TV show, lyrics from a song, or other place in popular culture, and produce it like it was a radio drama. I chose to take the G Man's opening monologue and the first few moments of the video game Half-Life 2. I was not allowed to use sound effects or music from the source material, but I did all of my own voice work and used music from both my school’s database and royalty free pieces by Kevin Macleod.
